What a lot of folks don't think about these days is that a traditional wedding is hard. People think to themselves that I would save money and be a lot more comfortable if I had a wedding that was close to my home. Unfortunately this is really not the case. The reality is when you have a wedding that is close to home, virtually everyone will feel like they are entitled to attend even when they are not very close or you have not seen them in years. The fact is many people will come to your wedding for a free meal. That being said, how do you only invite the people who are close and committed. I posit that they way to do this is by having a destination wedding.
Anytime you have an event where people need to pay for their transportation, rest assured you are getting people who want to be there. And, with the average cost of a destination wedding substantially cheaper than it used to be you can have a fantastic event that will come in at a price that is comparable or less than what it would have been had you done a conventional wedding close to home.
Also, when you do a destination wedding, you have your pick of the best vacation spots in the world. This is a major plus as you can also combine your honeymoon with your wedding and rest assured your guests will have a great time.
A lot of folks do not do these weddings because they feel they are being inconsiderate and forcing their vacations ideas upon others. However, this is simply not true. Many couples cannot decide where they want to go on vacation and are actually relieved when they get that destination wedding invite. What a better reason for going on an exotic vacation?
