Dominican Republic is located on the eastern two-third of the Island of Hispaniola, a Caribbean island. Hispaniola became famous by the advent of Columbus in 1492. • For calmer and shallow beaches, visit San Dominigo. Boca Chica and Juan Dolia are two beaches of San Dominigo where families go. Juan Dolia also boasts of water sports in addition to the wonderful beach.
• The city of San Dominigo is an excellent place to start exploring the country. The National Theater is a good place to visit for those interested in the local culture. The city is home to the cave complex called Los Tres Ojos De Agua or Three Eyes of Water. It has three lagoons at varying levels.
• Other places frequented by tourists are San Cristobal, La Romana, Manati Theme Park, Azua de Compostela, Pueblo Viejo, Samana Peninsula and Cabritos Island.
• Dominican Republic is most famous for its amber found on the northern coast.
