Austria is a landlocked alpine country with mountain ranges covering its southern and western regions. The country is renowned for its beautiful landscape, filled with verdant forests, lush green valleys, fast-flowing rivers, picturesque lakes and canopied forests.

Austria, though a land of outstanding beauty, is equally well known for its rich culture, great history and splendid architecture. Salzburg in Austria is the birthplace of Mozart, the greatest musician of all times. Anywhere you go in Austria, you are reminded of the country’s impeccable musical traditions. For lovers of music and culture, Austria is a virtually a gold mine with museums, operas and concerts vying with each other for your attention.

Even though the country has a variety of things to offer to visitors, most tourists come to the country to enjoy its mountains. Vacationers flock to the Alpine regions to enjoy its picturesque lakes during summer, for trekking in spring and for winter sports in the cold months. Grossglockner, standing tall at 12,500ft is Austria’s tallest mountain.
