If you're like most people who own a timeshare you might be saying, how do I sell my timeshare now? The truth is it's actually very difficult since the market is overload with thousands of sellers but in this article I'm going to cover 3 options to get rid of your timeshare.
First, check out eBay and Craigslist. The great things about these sites is that they have huge markets of people looking to buy and if you have the right price it could result in you selling your timeshare fast.
To get started check out eBay first, they have an entire section dedicated to selling timeshares and have some very helpful tips to promoting your timeshare, to pricing it the right way. Craigslist is also another good option however they have been know to have a lot more scammers, so beware who you're selling to.
Second, look into timeshare resale companies. These companies are big advertising sites that post your timeshare on their site and will keep it up their until it's sold.
The problem with this is that these companies tend to charge high fees usually around $500 to $600 and more in most cases. So stick to companies that have a good name. Some timeshare resale scams you should stay away from are Timeshares Only, and Timeshare Market Pro. However one you should check out is Sell My Time Share Now. I've found this site to be the most knowledgeable on the subject.
Finally, consider the buy back option. A buy back option is were you contact your home resort and ask to have them buy it back. The benefit of this is the timeshare resort will take back the week and not have to deal with the maintenance fees any more. On the downside these programs don't usually give you much in return for them, maybe 10 cents on the dollar.
In the end consider these three options before you sell and hopefully you'll at least get some of the money you paid for your timeshare back.
